Mapping Domain Name to IP Address

In this article, I will map domain registered through Google to Linode server. Login to the Google domains and use custom name servers:

NS1.LINODE.COM
NS2.LINODE.COM
NS3.LINODE.COM
NS4.LINODE.COM
NS5.LINODE.COM

After pointing the domain name to Linode DNS. Login to Linode and add a domain to specify the name of the domain and contact email. This will automatically create the SOA and NS records. Note that we don't need to manually create A records. You can use dig command to test the configuration. In this output, the ANSWER is 0. It takes about 30 minutes for the changes to propagate.

After a few hours, the command output shows the ANSWER is 1.
